Program and Instruction

Early College High School (ECHS) provides an intensive academic and personal support program to WPS high school students, giving them the opportunity to earn an associate degree through Post University at no direct cost to the student or family. ECHS enables students to challenge themselves to think, lead, and thrive while taking college courses to prepare them for success in secondary and postsecondary education. ECHS also provides opportunities for students to expand their curricular experiences with authentic, career-readiness training and internship opportunities.

Program Features

Students who are accepted are immediately enrolled in college courses beginning their freshman year, providing them with rigorous, engaging coursework early on in their high school career.
Rising 9th grade ECHS students have the opportunity to participate in a free innovative summer enrichment program.
ECHS students have immediate access to college planning resources and exploration opportunities.
ECHS staff provide intensive academic and SEL support throughout all four years of matriculation.
Beginning in their third year, ECHS students have the opportunity to attend college classes on Post University's campus along with traditional college students, preparing them to be successful in a college setting.

ECHS families are able to save on the rising costs of college through students obtaining college credits through Post University.
ECHS students are provided a warm, supportive atmosphere with high expectations for academic performance, attendance, and behavior.
ECHS students are afforded opportunities to participate in leadership development activities and encouraged to pursue opportunities to provide service to the community.
ECHS students are considered college students and have access to a wide array of resources offered through Post University

Parental Outreach

Frequent updates are provided to parents and families on student progress throughout the school year.
Student-led conferences are facilitated during Parent Conferences with support from academic teachers and school counselors.
Family engagement events are held throughout the school year to provide information and to build community among the students, families, and staff.
